A police investigation is underway after hackers managed to show eight minutes of a pornographic film on a large screen in Southend Town Centre.

On Tuesday afternoon at around 2pm, shocked bystanders at The Forum close to Southend High Street witnessed a scene from a movie that has been confirmed as ‘A Ride In The Turdis’ – an adult movie aimed at the British Sci-Fi market.

Shopper Michael Prongburg took a photo of the screen that we have blurred for reasons of decency.

He said: ‘These guys obviously knew what they were doing as the sound was turned up to full volume as well.’

‘I’ve never seen so many mothers cover their kids’ eyes and ears in one place.’

Another witness said: ‘I saw a young lad climb up the back of the screen with a USB stick, and minutes later the adult film was playing.’

‘I can’t believe it took someone from the library so long to come outside with a remote and turn it off.’

‘To be honest the whole thing has appalled me – the video was a disgrace.’

‘Looking at the position of both of them, there is no way that they would have been able to achieve the form of penetration that is described in the movie’s title.’

‘If the council is going to use the screen for cultural enrichment of the local population, they need to get this stuff right.’

‘How many kids are going to go away now with unrealistic expectations?’

A council spokesperson denied that there are plans in place for an open air festival of smut this summer, in spite of a leaked email emerging saying that discussions for ‘Poon In The Park’ are at an ‘advanced stage.’
