A popular and predictably fully-booked pub restaurant in Southend has announced that there will be a very special £19.99 menu available for just £39.99 per person to celebrate Father’s Day. According to the manager of The Furry Fox in London Road, the one-off menu will be available for both Sunday Lunch and Dinner, and also that every Father will be treated to a half-pint of whatever drink will result in the lowest loss of revenue to the business.

Furry Fox manager Bill Markup said: ‘We are delighted to be offering our regular £19.99 menu for just £39.99 to give Southend families this very special opportunity to show Dads just how valued and loved they really are. We still have a few tables remaining throughout the day, but these will definitely go fast as soon as this promotional news article has been published. While the menu is identical to every other Sunday at The Furry Fox, Dads will be able to celebrate by enjoying a refreshing and complimentary half-pint of whatever drink would have cost us the least, you know something really dire like Fosters or Carling, while stocks last.’

Bill added: ‘Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we will be running similar special day promotions throughout the rest of 2016. We are already taking bookings for our £99.99 Christmas Menu where diners will be treated to the normal menu with a mince pie – kids get a free choke hazard toy as well so places are going fast.’

  1. This was a really good idea enjoying us to have the pick of the tables at this otherwise empty pub with immediate service and nothing running out on the menu.

Unfortunately the day was slightly marred by not being able to afford to take father along but you can’t have everything.

  2. I thought this site was supposed to be satirical not reporting actual behaviour by underhand businesses?
