A source has revealed that the majority of problems on this line are down to passengers 'not using trains correctly.'

Commuters who regularly use the trains between Southend Victoria and London Liverpool Street were left outraged tonight after the announcement that the current rolling stock that is used on the line will remain in service until October 2165. There were originally plans in place to bring trains on this route in line with the modern and comfortable carriages that run the route from Liverpool Street to Ipswich, but Southend News Network understands that these trains will be upgraded further instead.

According to papers that we have seen, users of the route through Chelmsford and Colchester will soon be able to enjoy at-seat power sockets, superfast wi-fi, massage chairs and motivational speakers – however the Southend Victoria trains will still get a new coat of external paint with every change in the franchise holder.

In an attempt to soften the blow further for commuters using stations such as Hockley, Rayleigh and Southend Airport, there are also plans to run special weekend services over the next 2-3 years where passengers will get the chance to experience trebled journey times in a range of classic and vintage buses.

We asked a spokesperson for a comment, and he said, ‘These weekend special services are going to give railway users a chance to reconnect with the iconic Essex countryside that surrounds existing stations along the route, and we will not charge them a penny extra for this thrilling experience.’
