Planes like this could soon be seen at Southend Airport, with wings and windows.

Although an official announcement will not be made for a few weeks, Southend News Network can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that an airline is about to launch flights from London Southend Airport.

At this early stage, we have seen documents that prove that the new route will depart from Southend Airport, before flying a certain distance and then landing at an airport that is located somewhere else. In a further shocking development, we can also reveal that the same route will be operated in reverse, with flights landing at Southend.

Pablo Sycophantowicz, chairman of the Bureau for Business of Southend, is delighted with the news. He said, ‘I am delighted with the news that an airline will be using Southend Airport to operate flights from our proud town to a location that is located elsewhere. I don’t usually like to make predictions that are based on very little information, but there is already market analysis to prove that this could bring an extra 800,000 to 1,000,000 visitors to Southend every single year.’

WHAT DESTINATIONS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ADDED TO THE LIST AT SOUTHEND AIRPORT – POLL CLOSED

  • 62% – New York
  • 14% – The moon
  • 11% – The sun
  • 7% – Rochford
  • 6% – Narnia

While the majority of Southend residents are understandably overjoyed at the news, Brian Flowerpot of the Stop The Ruddy Airport Noise group remains to be convinced.

‘Although I am aware that increased flight activity at the airport will lead to greater visitor numbers, a better public profile, economic benefits, greater employment and holidaymaker convenience for the town, the overall effects will be devastating. However, as a group we will continue to work towards our goal of a Thames Estuary airport on Two Tree Island.’
